About Friends of Spencer Park

Friends of Spencer Park are a registered charity consisting of a group of Coventry residents working with the City Council to improve the amenities of Spencer Park in Earlsdon and increase its usage by the community.
We hold regular events and organise activities for adults and children including events at Easter, Halloween and Christmas. We have also run a Fun Dog show for several years.
We have been running a community tennis club in the park since 2016, which enabled us to achieve the financial investment in the tennis courts managed by the Lawn Tennis
Association Foundation, The UK government and Coventry City Council. The Four tennis courts have been resurfaced and new fencing has been built..

A large flower bed has been planted in the park and is maintained by volunteers.
A cafe running at the weekends is staffed by volunteers for 5 hours day for about 9 months of the year.

Over the last 3 years attention has focussed on the pavilion and various bids have been submitted, and appeals to the local community made, for funds to refurbish the pavilion as a cafe for community use. Work is expected to start in January 2025
