About Friends of Spencer Park

Welcome to Friends of Spencer Park! We’re a dedicated group of Coventry residents who team up with the City Council to make Spencer Park in Earlsdon an even better place for our community to enjoy. We love bringing people together with regular events and fun activities for all ages—think Easter egg hunts, Halloween festivities, and Christmas celebrations! And let’s not forget our popular Fun Dog Show, which has become a beloved tradition. Since 2016, we've proudly run a community tennis club in the park, and thanks to our efforts, we’ve secured funding to enhance our tennis courts with support from the Lawn Tennis Association Foundation, the UK government, and Coventry City Council. Our four tennis courts have been resurfaced, and new fencing has been put up, making it a great spot for tennis enthusiasts! Our volunteers have also created a beautiful flower bed that brightens up the park, and we operate a cozy community café in the pavilion staffed by volunteers. In the past three years, we've focused our attention on the pavilion in the park, working hard to gather funds for refurbishing it into a even more welcoming venue for everyone in the community to enjoy. We’re excited about what’s to come and look forward to welcoming new volunteers to the fully refurbished Spencer Park Community Café as well as to our wonderful gardening and events teams.
