Make a difference through gardening. Valley House is looking for enthusiastic and reliable volunteer gardeners to help maintain and improve our outdoor spaces.
Our gardens play an important role in creating a welcoming, safe and pleasant environment for the people who access our services. By volunteering with us you will help enhance the well-being of our community while developing your gardening skills and gaining valuable experience.
What you'll be doing:
- Planting watering and caring for flowers, shrubs and plants
- Pruning and general garden maintenance
- Weeding and maintaining garden beds
- Lawn care, grass cutting and trimming hedges
- Keeping outdoor areas tidy and welcoming
- Supporting seasonal gardening projects and improvements
- Safe use of gardening equipment, including lawn mowers and hedge trimmers (training provided where required)
- Supporting landscaping and garden improvement projects
- Always following health and safety guidance
What we're looking for:
- A positive attitude and willingness to learn and develop new skills
- An interest in gardening and outdoor work
- Previous gardening experience is desirable, but not essential
- Ability to carry out light gardening tasks
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Good communication skills
- Ability to follow health and safety procedures

- Positive attitude and willingness to help others
- Adaptable and able to work in different weather conditions
