Summary

Support mental health practitioners to deliver local group wellbeing sessions.

Detailed description

Based within community venues across Worcestershire and South Warwickshire.


Core tasks

  • Help with the setting up of groups
  • Support the delivery of activities and smooth running of the group, being on hand to listen to the people who use our services and offer signposting where appropriate
  • Be willing to take part in discussions
  • Support in ensuring the group is delivered within a safe, welcoming environment
  • Take part in practical elements of the session such as making refreshments, completing the register and collating group feedback
  • Help to tidy up afterwards

Person specification

  • The volunteer needs to have, warmth, sensitivity, understanding, patience and a sense of humour, with a mature flexible outlook and enough time to volunteer regularly.
  • To be able to give at least six months’ commitment.
  • No specific experience is necessary as training will be given
  • Must be aged over 18

Support offered

  • Induction training is provided before volunteers take up their roles
  • Ongoing training is provided by the coordinator
  • Support/supervision sessions provided
  • Reimbursement of expenses
  • Public liability insurance cover

Any other information

  • Volunteers are required to complete an application form
  • Provide details of two referees (who are not related and have known the applicant for a minimum of two years)
  • Complete a DBS check
  • Attend any training required
