Support mental health practitioners to deliver local group wellbeing sessions.
Based within community venues across Worcestershire and South Warwickshire.
Core tasks
- Help with the setting up of groups
- Support the delivery of activities and smooth running of the group, being on hand to listen to the people who use our services and offer signposting where appropriate
- Be willing to take part in discussions
- Support in ensuring the group is delivered within a safe, welcoming environment
- Take part in practical elements of the session such as making refreshments, completing the register and collating group feedback
- Help to tidy up afterwards
Person specification
- The volunteer needs to have, warmth, sensitivity, understanding, patience and a sense of humour, with a mature flexible outlook and enough time to volunteer regularly.
- To be able to give at least six months’ commitment.
- No specific experience is necessary as training will be given
- Must be aged over 18
Support offered
- Induction training is provided before volunteers take up their roles
- Ongoing training is provided by the coordinator
- Support/supervision sessions provided
- Reimbursement of expenses
- Public liability insurance cover
Any other information
- Volunteers are required to complete an application form
- Provide details of two referees (who are not related and have known the applicant for a minimum of two years)
- Complete a DBS check
- Attend any training required
