Providing receptionist and admin support for our children and young people's services.

Core tasks

  • To act as the first point of contact at Reception, providing a welcoming and friendly environment for those coming in for appointments.
  • Letting people in for appointments whilst maintaining security ensuring doors are closed/remain locked where appropriate (We are not an “open” building and so expect people coming in to be only those coming for appointments rather than members of the public).

  • The volunteer needs to have, warmth, sensitivity, understanding, patience and a sense of humour, with a mature flexible outlook and enough time to volunteer regularly.
  • Be able to give at least six months’ commitment.
  • No specific experience is necessary as training will be given.

Support offered

  • Induction training is provided before volunteers take up their roles
  • Ongoing training is provided by the coordinator
  • Support/supervision sessions provided
