Chat Central is a great place to try new things, make new friends and get involved in your community.
All activities are FREE and open to adults (18+) living in Coventry.
🌟 Interested in volunteering but don't know where to start?
Join Chat Central for a volunteer taster session at FoodCycle Coventry and discover how you can make a real difference.
🤝 FoodCycle Coventry is a community dining service that turns food that might otherwise be thrown away into free, healthy, three-course vegetarian meals, reducing waste and helping to bring people together to tackle loneliness.
✨ During this taster session, you'll get a behind-the-scenes look at how FoodCycle Coventry works, meet the team, and see what it's like to volunteer in a supportive and welcoming environment.
The host role will involve getting the dining area ready for service, serving meals to the guests at their tables, and chatting with guests to make them feel welcome!
The pot wash role will involve supporting the cooking team by making sure the kitchen is clean and tidy during service. You will be scrubbing pots and pans, cleaning plates and helping to ensure the tidy up is as efficient as possible.
💚 Whether you're completely new to volunteering or simply looking for a new opportunity, this is a chance to build confidence, develop your skills, and be part of something that has a positive impact on the lives of others.
🙌 No previous experience is required Friendly staff and volunteers will be on hand throughout the session to answer questions and support you every step of the way.
📝 If you enjoy the experience, there will be an opportunity to sign up for future volunteering on the day.
