Items from the Coventry Collection will be be on display and you'll have the chance to speak to Scott Duffin about how you can volunteer and get involved.

Chat Central is a great place to try new things, make new friends and get involved in your community.

All activities are FREE and open to adults (18+) living in

Coventry.

Local historian and author of Elephants of Coventry, Scott Duffin, is bringing the Coventry Collection right into the heart of Coventry Market. Scott’s passion for preserving the city’s heritage is something special, and he’ll be showcasing a fantastic mix of artefacts — from artwork and old bottles to coins, maps, photos, and even the famous Blitz piano. It’s a great chance to hear his stories and share in his love for all things Cov!

Scott’s also on the lookout for volunteers to help him keep the Coventry Collection open throughout the week. If you’ve got a few hours to spare and fancy supporting him — while sharing Coventry’s rich history with visitors — he’d love to have you on board.

Getting there

We recommend entering the market via the Sherbourne Arcade which can be accessed from the Lower Precinct. Due to the City Centre South regeneration project some adjacent streets and arcade entrances are temporarily fenced off or under construction.

About Chat Central project

We engage adults of all ages and physical abilities from all areas of Coventry. Whether new to the city, a student from overseas, a migrant, bereaved, retired, a new parent, just out of hospital, dealing with an illness or condition that limits their ability to get out, or just out of practice with socialising and getting more active and ‘out there.’
