Join our Haberdashery Team at the Rugby Refurbishment Centre and help transform sewing tools and supplies into life-changing kits for communities across Africa. Whether you're passionate about textiles, enjoy working with your hands, or simply want to give back, there's a role for you.
From sorting donated fabrics and sewing machines to restoring haberdashery items and assembling tailor-made kits, every task plays a part in empowering people with the tools to build sustainable livelihoods. You don’t need any special experience—just enthusiasm, a willingness to help, and a heart for making a difference.
Come be part of our friendly, flexible volunteer team and help us change lives—one stitch at a time—right here in Rugby.
We offer flexible volunteering hours to fit around your availability, whether that’s a regular weekly slot or occasional support when you can. You’ll be part of a warm and welcoming team based at our Rugby centre, with all training provided.

About Tools with a Mission
Through our 'local to global' model, we prevent nearly 400 tonnes of tools from crowding UK landfills annually and engage local communities, offering volunteering opportunities that nurture skills and foster social connections. The impact of our work resonates globally, as we supply refurbished tools to over 500 organisations in Sub-Saharan Africa. These tools equip individuals with the skills needed to completely transform their lives and communities.
By refurbishing and recycling, we save over 1,000 tonnes of CO2 emissions annually, demonstrating our commitment to environmental sustainability. Our toolkits serve as catalysts for change, from supporting families and education to strengthening communities. Our local efforts have a global impact, helping to create a world where everyone has the chance to thrive.
