Join The Girls' Network as a volunteer mentor and help a local girl discover her strengths, raise her aspirations and explore her future.

Could You Help a Girl Imagine Her Future? Become a Mentor

At The Girls' Network, we know that you can't be what you can't see. That's why we connect girls and young women with relatable role models who help them build confidence, broaden their horizons and imagine futures full of possibility.

We're looking for women in Coventry and the surrounding area to volunteer as mentors for girls attending local schools.

As a mentor, you'll be matched with one girl and meet with her for six monthly mentoring sessions. Together, you'll explore her interests, strengths, aspirations and the opportunities available to her. You don't need to have all the answers – your experiences, encouragement and willingness to listen can make a real difference.

We welcome women from all backgrounds and career paths. Whether you're employed, self-employed, retired or currently not working, your experiences could help inspire the next generation.

What's involved?

  • Six one-to-one mentoring sessions over approximately six months
  • Around 2–3 hours per month
  • Sessions take place in a local school, usually between 3pm and 6pm
  • Full training and ongoing support from The Girls' Network

To become a mentor, you'll need:

  • To be aged 25 or over
  • At least three years' experience of work or workplaces
  • To be able to commit to the programme for six months
  • A passion for supporting girls and young women

By volunteering just a few hours each month, you can help a girl build confidence, explore opportunities and imagine a future she may never have thought possible.

About The Girls' Network

At The Girls’ Network, we know that you can’t be what you can’t see. That’s why we connect girls and young women with relatable role models who help them build confidence, broaden their horizons and imagine futures full of possibility.

Through our mentoring programmes, volunteer mentors support girls to recognise their strengths, explore opportunities and feel more confident about their future. Our mentors come from a wide range of backgrounds and experiences, showing girls that there is no single path to success.

We are currently recruiting volunteer mentors in Coventry and the surrounding area. By volunteering just a few hours each month, you can help a local girl expand her horizons, raise her aspirations and discover what might be possible for her future.

We do this by connecting girls with volunteer mentors and inspiring role models who encourage them to recognise their strengths and realise their potential. Through mentoring and development opportunities, we help girls feel more confident about their futures and the paths available to them.
