Summary

This is SMF project offering compassionate support to people facing bereavement, illness or isolation, helping improve wellbeing and ease pressure on hospitals

Detailed description

Winter Companions is a seasonal community support project by the Silas Mkoba Foundation, supporting individuals and families affected by bereavement, illness, isolation, or hardship during winter.

The project offers non-clinical support including emotional check-ins, buddy calls, wellbeing guidance, signposting to local services, and winter wellbeing packs where available. This early, compassionate support helps improve wellbeing, reduce isolation, and support people to stay well at home, easing pressure on hospitals.
