As a Charity Champion, you can choose from a variety of activities, including promoting online campaigns, sharing social media content, supporting local events.

As a Charity Champion, you can choose from a variety of activities, including promoting online campaigns, sharing social media content, supporting local events, distributing leaflets, fundraising, community outreach and helping raise awareness of Mencap's work.

There is no regular time commitment, so you can get involved as much or as little as suits you.

As a Charity Champion, you will:

    • Volunteer flexibly around your existing commitments
    • Support Mencap campaigns and awareness activities
    • Help promote fundraising and community events
    • Share opportunities and information within your local community
    • Make a difference to the lives of people with a learning disability

Onboarding Process

Getting started as a Mencap Charity Champion is quick and easy:

  • Complete our short online application form
  • Have access to a computer, tablet or smartphone and an internet connection to take part in online tasks
  • Watch a short introduction video explaining how to complete Charity Champion tasks
  • Receive additional support and guidance if needed
  • Access opportunities through the Mencap Volunteering Platform
  • Choose tasks that interest you and fit around your availability
  • Complete tasks remotely and mark them as finished on the platform
  • Log in at any time to view new opportunities
  • Receive email notifications when new tasks are added

This role is designed to be fully flexible, allowing you to dip in and out of volunteering as your time allows. Whether you complete one task occasionally or get involved more regularly, every contribution helps support people with a learning disability and raise awareness of Mencap's work.
