Welcome & Meet-and-Greet Volunteer (Front of House)

RE(YOU)S Your Christmas is a community EX(CHANGE) event designed to make it easier for people to access, gifts, decorations and more in a warmand welcoming space.

We’re looking for Welcome & Meet-and-Greet Volunteers to be on the front line of that welcome.

In this role, you’ll:

Greet people as they arrive at the venue

Offer a simple, friendly explanation of what the event is and how it works

Point people towards different areas (e.g. crafts, refreshments)

Answer basic questions or find another team member who can help

Help manage a calm flow of people entering, so the space doesn’t feel overwhelming

We’ll give you a clear, simple briefing so you know what to say and where everything is. You will not be left on your own, there will always be another volunteer or staff member nearby.

This role would suit someone who:

Enjoys talking to people and putting them at ease

Has a calm, friendly and non-judgemental manner

Is comfortable in a busy, family-friendly environment with adults, children and young people

Can stand or sit near the entrance for a period of time (with breaks)

You don’t need formal experience - a willingness to be present, kind and approachable. If you have any access or support needs (for example, needing to be seated, or preferring shorter shifts), we’re happy to work with you to make the role comfortable.
