Location: Remote with potential on-site presence for events

Time Commitment: 8-12 hours per week

Reports To: PR and Communications Manager


Role Overview

The Community Outreach Volunteer will be vital in expanding RE(YOU)S’ community presence. By connecting with local groups, influencers, and organisations, they will work to build valuable relationships, encourage support, and promote RE(YOU)S’ events and initiatives within the community.

Key Responsibilities

Community Engagement and Relationship Building

  • Engage with Community Partners: Reach out to local groups, businesses, influencers, and community organisations to introduce RE(YOU)S’ mission and invite them to support or participate in events.
  • Maintain Ongoing Communication: Build and maintain long-term relationships by keeping partners updated on RE(YOU)S events and programs, ensuring they remain engaged and informed.

Event Coordination with Partners

  • Coordinate Event Participation: Arrange for community partners to be involved in events through sponsorships, booths, or co-hosted activities, boosting visibility for both RE(YOU)S and the partners.
  • Distribute Promotional Materials: Ensure partners receive materials (e.g., posters, flyers, social media graphics) to share with their networks, increasing event exposure.

Community Engagement Tracking and Reporting

  • Track Engagement Efforts: Log interactions with community partners, track engagement progress, and document key information for future reference.
  • Prepare Engagement Reports: Compile monthly summaries of new connections, engagement activities, and partner feedback to share with the PR team.

Outreach and Database Management

  • Expand Contact Database: Research and add new contacts—community groups, local businesses, and influencers who align with RE(YOU)S’ values—to the outreach list.
  • Update Contact Information: Keep the community outreach database organised and up-to-date, making tracking relationships and outreach history easy.

Support Volunteer Recruitment and Onboarding

  • Promote Volunteer Opportunities: Reach out to community organisations, schools, and colleges to promote volunteer openings and engage local talent.
  • Assist in Onboarding: Help onboard new volunteers, introduce them to the community engagement process, and ensure they understand RE(YOU)S’ community-building goals.


Collaborate with Marketing and PR Teams

  • Suggest Community-Based Content: Identify compelling stories, testimonials, and feedback from the community that the Marketing team can use in newsletters, social media, or the website.
  • Coordinate with PR for Consistent Messaging: Work closely with the PR and Communications manager to ensure that all outreach aligns with RE(YOU)S’ mission and messaging.

Skills and Qualifications

  • Interpersonal Skills: Strong relationship-building abilities; comfortable networking and connecting with diverse community members and organisations.
  • Organisational Skills: Detail-oriented and able to manage contact information, engagement logs, and community outreach calendars.
  • Proactive and Self-Motivated: Identify new community engagement opportunities and follow through on tasks.
  • Familiarity with Community-Based Work (Preferred): Prior experience in community engagement, outreach, or volunteer work is beneficial.
