Help organise, photograph and catalogue resources for our EX(CHANGE) so they can be found, shared and reused by the community and organisations.
RE(YOU)S is preparing resources for our RE(SOURCE) Hub, which enables businesses and community organisations to share useful resources and keep them in use.
We are looking for a small team of volunteers to help us complete a defined, short-term storage and inventory project.
Activities may include:
• Sorting and grouping resources using our agreed categories
• Organising items within the storage space
• Taking clear inventory photographs
• Assigning item reference numbers and recording details
• Uploading or preparing information for the catalogue
• Labelling items and matching them to their storage locations
• Checking records and flagging missing, damaged or unclear items
• Supporting a final inventory count and quality check
You will be applying an existing process rather than designing a new system. Clear guidance and a task demonstration will be provided.
You do not need to undertake every activity. Tasks can be allocated around your interests, strengths and access requirements.
Some activities involve light manual handling, but nobody will be expected to lift heavy or awkward items alone.
No previous inventory or cataloguing experience is required. This opportunity would suit someone who is organised, reliable, attentive to detail and comfortable using a smartphone or basic digital tools, or willing to learn.
This is a short-term project involving a small number of agreed sessions. We would ideally like volunteers to attend at least two sessions.
