We are looking for a Data Analyst Volunteer to help support RE(YOU)S in understanding, organising, and visualising information.
We are looking for a Data Analyst Volunteer to help support RE(YOU)S in understanding, organising, and visualising information connected to our projects, participation, partnerships, resource flow, and community engagement.
This role focuses on helping turn information into meaningful insight that can support learning, decision-making, visibility, partnership understanding, and impact awareness across RE(YOU)S activities and projects.
The role may involve helping organise information, identify patterns or trends, support dashboards or tracking systems, and help make activity and participation more visible in practical and accessible ways.
This is not about corporate reporting or extracting information from people. It is about helping make real activity, participation, resource flow, and community engagement visible in ethical, useful, and human-centred ways.
What You’ll Do
- Help organise and structure information and data
- Support tracking participation, activity, partnerships, or resource flow
- Help identify patterns, trends, and operational insights across projects
- Support dashboards, spreadsheets, or reporting tools where appropriate
- Help visualise information in accessible and understandable ways
- Support visibility around participation, engagement, and community impact
- Help support evidence and visibility for partners and stakeholders where appropriate
- Support ethical and responsible handling of information
- Work alongside the wider RE(YOU)S team to understand operational needs
- Share insights and observations back with the team
What You Won’t Do
- Collect personal information without clarity or consent
- Use information outside agreed purposes
- Be expected to create corporate-style reporting disconnected from real activity
- Work in isolation without communication with the wider team
- Be expected to know everything or have all the answers
- Make decisions on behalf of RE(YOU)S without alignment
Data Ethics & Responsibility
RE(YOU)S believes information should be handled responsibly, transparently, and with respect for the people and communities connected to it.
We are interested in meaningful visibility and understanding, not extraction, surveillance, or collecting information without purpose.
This role supports ethical approaches to information, participation, and impact awareness, helping ensure that data remains connected to real people, real activity, and real-world context.
Who You’ll Work With
- The wider RE(YOU)S team
- Research & Insight Volunteers
- Data Storyteller / Impact Storyteller Volunteers
- Community Engagement & Outreach Volunteers where relevant
- Project leads, volunteers, and activity coordinators
- Partners and stakeholders where appropriate
What Might Help
An interest in analysing information, identifying patterns, and understanding how data connects to real-world activity is important for this role.
Formal qualifications, relevant study, or being in the final year of a related course in areas such as data analytics, statistics, research, computer science, sustainability, business intelligence, or similar subjects would be beneficial.
We also value curiosity, practical thinking, ethical awareness, and a willingness to learn alongside the role.
It may help if you:
- Enjoy analysing information or spotting patterns
- Like organising or visualising information
- Are curious and detail-oriented
- Enjoy problem-solving
- Feel comfortable using spreadsheets or digital tools
- Are interested in social impact, sustainability, or community projects
- Can communicate ideas clearly and accessibly
Experience or interest in spreadsheets, dashboards, Power BI, data analysis, reporting, visualisation, research, statistics, or systems thinking would be beneficial.
What You’ll Gain
- Experience supporting a growing community organisation
- Opportunities to build analytical and problem-solving skills
- Experience working with real-world community and operational data
- Opportunities to contribute ideas and shape developing systems
- Experience within circular economy and community-focused projects
- A supportive and collaborative environment
- References available following consistent involvement
