Volunteer Skill Group Leader: support a small group of Bronze and Silver DofE participants to complete their Skill section of the Award.

We are looking for people with a skill to share!

Could you teach a small group of young people, aged 14-17, something new?

We're looking for a new range of skill groups to support our growing number of participants on Friday Evenings (7:30-9pm) at QRBC DofE.

You would deliver skill sessions from September until December (Christmas) - 1 hour session each week.

We would like to see a bit of a plan for what you'd cover in each session (12-15 sessions).

There would be a small budget to cover materials if needed, dependent on the number of young people in the group.

We have access to some laptops that could be used if needed.

We would need to process a DBS check for you, or access your updates service record.

You would be supported in running the group by one or two of our long standing QRBC DofE volunteers (they'd be learning the skill too!).

Some skill group ideas:

  • British Sign Language
  • Ukulele or another musical instrument
  • Singing
  • Drama/acting or public speaking
  • Crochet or knitting
  • Other Art or Craft skills
  • Fantasy tabletop role-playing games (TTRPG)
  • Basic computer coding or app design
  • Video or Content Editing
