•Learn about the role of a PIM peer supporter and what it involves.
•Know about volunteering opportunities and the level of commitment needed.
•Be aware of the support available throughout your journey.
About Parents in Mind NCT
We are an established local charity providing perinatal peer support for pregnant people and new mothers and birthing people across Coventry and Warwickshire. We are commissioned by the Coventry and Warwickshire Partnership Trust and have been supporting local mums and birthing people since 2016.
We support mums and birthing parents who are experiencing mild to moderate mental health difficulties during pregnancy and/or with a baby up to the age of two years. They might be feeling more anxious or lonely during pregnancy, or finding the transition to parenthood challenging.
Our service runs across Warwickshire and Coventry and provides support by referral only from both professionals and mums and birthing parents themselves. We currently have regular face-to-face group peer support across Coventry but also in Leamington, Nuneaton, Rugby, Stratford-upon-Avon and Warwick. We offer remote support in various formats, including a universal evening group and two additional specialist groups (a pregnancy-specific group and a “Creative Cuppa” space). We also provide 1:1 peer support where deemed more suitable.
