Summary
Our Helpline volunteers answer calls from people suffering from severe anxiety. They provide reassurance and explore ways to manage their anxiety. All from homeDetailed description
We are looking for more volunteers to take calls on the No Panic Helpline.
Every day we take multiple calls from people suffering from severe anxiety and desperate for help. Our volunteers are trained to provide reassurance to callers and explore with them ways to manage their anxiety.
Everything is done from home, including training, all you need is a telephone. This makes it the ideal opportunity for those with mobility or fitness issues.
Our volunteers usually work a 3-hour shift once a week.
Initial training is 1hour a week for 8 weeks (for a small charge of £25 to cover costs), with backup support for the first 6 weeks on the helpline. There is continued support via bimonthly support groups.

About No Panic
No Panic is a national registered charity that helps and supports those living with Panic Attacks, Phobias, Obsessive Compulsive Disorders and other related anxiety disorders.
Quite often people who contact No Panic are unable to get help or have been waiting a long time for therapy. No Panic offers support that can prevent certain situations from reaching crisis point.
Our Helpline is available 365 days of the year 10am to 10pm. We train our volunteers to be empathetic listeners and help callers to personally manage their mental health.
All of our services are provided over the telephone or internet which provide enormous flexibility, comfort and confidentiality to those we support.
Our volunteers can work from any location. Everything is done from home, including training, and there is never a need to attend elsewhere, so limited fitness or mobility is not a problem.
