There are a huge range of flexible ways you can help Coventry Go All In with reading in 2026, as an individual or an organisation

Can you help Coventry Go All In with Reading in 2026?

The National Year of Reading 2026 is a Department for Education initiative stewarded by the National Literacy Trust. An ambitious UK-wide initiative, it aims to reignite reading for pleasure and reverse long-term declines in reading engagement. Fewer than one in three children now say they enjoy reading, yet there is strong evidence that reading for pleasure boosts wellbeing, strengthens communities and can help overcome socio-economic disadvantage. The National Year of Reading celebrates all forms of personally meaningful reading in digital, audio, print and graphic formats. From gaming narratives to novels, song lyrics to recipes and much more, we are inviting everyone to Go All In with the things they love through reading.

Local partnerships are vital to bringing the National Year of Reading into the heart of communities, and all organisations can help ignite a love of reading that lasts long beyond 2026. Whatever the size or type of your organisation, there's a way you can get involved, whether it's celebrating relevant work you are already doing, or new ideas.

Lead Literacy Champions

Do you work with early years children, low income families and/or teenagers in Coventry? If so, we'd love to speak to you about getting involved as Lead Literacy Champions - a flexible and light touch voluntary role promoting literacy which can fit around capacity and what's right for your organisation and audiences. We offer guidance and support, capture and celebrate impact, and may be able to offer limited resources, such as books.
