We are having an open day with guest organisations who you can speak, learn what is going on in your local area, have lunch and pudding for £1.50p.
We will be having a representative from:
- Orbit Housing who you can ask questions, raise concerns or learn about the opportunities they have to offer. Orbit Housing have some homes in the local area, some shared ownership opportunities and the tenants have support to access funding for training opportunities.
- Credit Union can answer questions on loans and savings accounts which could help in preparation for Christmas.
- Job shop who have an opportunity to support people back into work with work coaches, CV writing and a new "Connect to Work" scheme for disabled people, carers and care leavers and people with a criminal record looking for work.
- Coventry City Council Refuge Team have a fun and interactive learning experience on recycling and what you can recycle at home.
- DWP are able to offer information, advise and guidance on women's retirement age and options as well as other DWP questions.
- West Midlands Police will be able to answer questions and you could have a chat with a local officer.
- Citizens Advise Bureau are able to offer free advice on legal financial, housing and consumer problems.
- Coventry Independent Advice Service offer free help with Universal credit, Pension Credit, PIP and DLA claims, forms and appeals.
- Trips - information on how to register to be able book a day trip with our team for October Half Term.
- Holbrooks Community Care Association and all our opportunities trips and activities as well as up and coming events and how to register.
- Youth opportunities.
- CGL - help with drug and alcohol information for all and a support group for loved ones impacted by a person suffering with an addiction.
- Early years team to talk and listen to all things under 5 and where you can go to have fun with your early years children.
- The Good Guide will have booklets from each post code of free activities for those over 50 years old.
We also have a social supermarket for those struggling with buying food and are on qualifying benefits.
The café is selling lunch with a dessert for £1.50 open for all to buy regardless of income. Lunch is sold from 12 noon until 2pm or when the kitchen has ran out of food.
You can come and mingle, have free tea and coffee, free parking and network with as many or few as you would like to. It is a drop in so come any time between 10 and 1:30 to get the most out of the day.
