Summary
Provide telephone admin support to help process volunteer befriender applications for assisting lonely older people with Good Neighbours Coventry
Detailed description
Can you phone people & organisations using a script? Good Neighbours Coventry supports around 600 older people per year, with the help of over 300 volunteers. We are always processing new volunteer applications, ensuring every befriender has attended a suitable induction session, has references & has completed their DBS check, and has attended any additional training they wish for. We also track older people's needs for support, making sure we have all necessary information to support them.
This flexible general admin role involves phoning volunteer befrienders using scripts to help them along their induction pathway, scanning applications forms, and sending letters. You need to have an eye for details & accuracy, and to be able to use a computer confidently. We will show you how to use our databases. You could also phone organisations to check details of local community groups.
Excellent English language skills are needed for this role - native speaker or C1 level.
Some admin volunteers come weekly; others fortnightly, monthly, or ad hoc. Admin volunteering is from our office, Monday-Friday between 10am & 3.30pm. You can stay for 1 hour or all day - it's up to you. The role can be temporary or longer term, as suits you.
