COVENTRY CATHEDRAL CHOIRS

The choirs at Coventry include a boys choir and a girls choir each of approximately 20 children from local schools. As part of the cathedral’s outreach to the local community, these children are recruited from a pool of 80 primary schools in the Coventry Area, and the children’s parents bring them to choir rehearsals and performances several times per week. Chaperone volunteers work alongside the Director of Music, Assistant Director of Music and Organ Scholar in ensuring the wellbeing of the children in the choir while they are at the Cathedral, and thereby help to enable their musical and general education and development.
