Arts Uplift have an exciting new opportunity for up to 8 Trustees(including Chair) to join our impactful community interest company.

In our 10 th year of operating Arts Uplift have an exciting new opportunity for up to 8 Trustees (including Chair) to join our impactful community interest company (CIC) as we transition to a Charitable Incorporated Organisation (CIO) at an exciting time with much development planned. 

We support adults to improve their lives, learn new skills and connect through a range of creative health activities that take place in spaces across Coventry, Warwickshire and beyond as well as online. We

also produce health related theatre and dance productions as well as exhibitions that tour.

 Salary: Voluntary

 Location: South Warwickshire / Remote

We are looking to recruit trustees from a range of backgrounds, life stages and skills to join us. At this time, we are looking for a Chair, Secretary, Treasurer plus others.

Recent experience or knowledge of the Creative Health or Health and Wellness Industry is preferable for the ideal candidate but not essential.

You would also need the following skills and qualities:

• A strong commitment to creative health and the Vision of the company

• A good understanding of governance, gained either as a Trustee of another charity, a director of a company, or as a manager who has worked with Boards

• The ability to apply clear logical thinking and creativity to developing our strategy

Role and responsibilities of a Trustee:

 Overseeing the running and governance of Arts Uplift

 Meet as a whole group four times a year plus an away day

 A sub task and finish group will meet monthly until the transition to a CIO happens, then frequency of meetings will be discussed

 Advocating for Arts Uplift and contributing to fundraising events or activities e.g. our quiz/auction

Some of the plans for development over the next 3 years include:

 Transitioning from a CIC to a CIO via the Charity Commission

 Developing our capacity through extending our team

 Developing further our Adult Mental Health programmes Ageing Well, Inside Stories and Create to Motivate across Coventry and Warwickshire

 Developing our individual giving, corporate donations, and other income streams

 Producing and touring theatre/dance performances and exhibitions with health messages

e.g. Navigating Margaret (dementia awareness)

We use many arts genres in our participatory projects such as dance, drama, music, film & arts/crafts & produce co-created theatre/dance/music/exhibitions with a health message.

Our Vision is to improve the physical & mental well-being of our diverse communities aged 5 upwards across Worcestershire, Warwickshire & Coventry & document people’s living memories through high quality inspirational arts & reminiscence activity & products.
