As a Volunteer you will support young people to develop their employability skills and engage with employers

About Arising Youth CIC

Arising Youth CIC is a community interest company based in Coventry, committed to empowering young people aged 16–30 to develop their confidence, skills and opportunities for personal and professional growth.

We support young people, particularly those from disadvantaged and underrepresented backgrounds, to overcome barriers to employment, build meaningful connections and progress towards education, training and work.

We are looking for a passionate and supportive volunteer to join our team and help young people prepare for their futures.

About the Role

We are looking for a proactive and enthusiastic volunteer to help strengthen our youth employability programmes and employer partnerships.

This is an opportunity for someone who wants to use their professional experience to make a positive difference in the lives of young people while developing their own skills and experience.

Key responsibilities

  • Youth employability support: Help young people with CV writing, interview preparation, job searching, career planning and workplace readiness.
  • Careers fairs and networking: Represent Arising Youth at careers fairs, employment events and community networking opportunities.
  • Event coordination: Help organise careers workshops, employer talks, panel discussions and employability events.
  • Employer engagement: Build relationships with businesses, recruiters, apprenticeship providers and training organisations.
  • Opportunity sourcing: Identify suitable job vacancies, apprenticeships, training opportunities and work experience opportunities for young people.
  • Programme development: Contribute ideas to improve our employability activities and respond to the needs of young people.
  • Monitoring and feedback: Help record participation, gather feedback and track young people's progression.

Who we're looking for

We would particularly welcome applicants with experience in one or more of the following areas:

  • Recruitment, HR or talent acquisition.
  • Careers guidance or employability support.
  • Youth work, mentoring or community development.
  • Event planning and coordination.
  • Employer engagement, business development or corporate social responsibility.
  • Education, apprenticeships or skills development.

You do not need experience in every area. We are looking for someone who is organised, reliable, approachable and passionate about helping young people succeed.

What you will gain

  • The opportunity to make a meaningful difference to young people's futures.
  • Experience in youth employability, employer engagement and programme delivery.
  • Opportunities to develop professional networks and partnership-building skills.
  • The chance to contribute ideas and help shape our programmes.
  • A supportive environment where your skills and contribution are valued.

Reasonable pre-agreed volunteering expenses may be reimbursed in line with our policy.
