About the Role
Arising Youth CIC is looking for compassionate and reliable volunteers to support refugees and asylum seekers with accessing essential services and opportunities.
As a Refugee Support Volunteer, you will provide one-to-one support to individuals who may need assistance completing forms, understanding applications, and navigating everyday processes.
Key Responsibilities
- Support individuals with completing online and paper-based applications.
- Assist with filling in forms for employment, education, housing, benefits, and other services.
- Help individuals understand letters and official documents.
- Signpost people to relevant organisations and support services.
- Provide a welcoming, respectful, and supportive environment.
- Maintain confidentiality and handle personal information appropriately.
- Work alongside the Arising Youth CIC team to ensure participants receive the support they need.
Skills & Qualities
We're looking for volunteers who are:
- Friendly, patient, and approachable.
- Good communicators with active listening skills.
- Organised and able to complete administrative tasks accurately.
- Confident using a computer and completing online forms.
- Respectful of people from different cultures and backgrounds.
- Passionate about supporting vulnerable members of the community.
